You plan to arbitrage a benefit from a good source of power the land and infrastructure I guess. Seems smart to me and perfectly reasonable if the numbers are working for you. I was wondering wheres the cheap power in Pennsylvania, shale gas fracking is a big deal out there.
We go through a broker. Once you get into the wholesale electric market rates go down sharply. To give you an idea our fixed rate is 8.2 c/KWh which goes down to 5.8 c/KWh once you get to 2MW or higher demand. A couple of years ago I look at a industrial building in Buffalo NY that was buying power at 4c /KWh from Niagara Hydroelectric. Too bad did not buy that one!.
