Hi All!

I've been following cryptos for quite some time now and am thinking about setting up a farm.

Basic information:
My electrical is 0.06c/kWh and am able to invest around ~100K (possibly more depending on how it goes).

Question:
What hardware should I get? Is it still worth going for the Antminer S9 for BTC or is it simply easier and more profitable in terms of ROI + long-term if I go for Altcoins?

Thank you very much for your time.

Even though Antminer S9 is efficient, it's not that durable. It's just a matter of time before it doesn't work (to an extent) and that goes for other Bitmain products (not that reliable), so in the end, the ROI it becomes more than you initially calculated (even without factoring the difficulty changes).
In regards to altcoins mining, there's been a significant decrease in profits (in recent months).

If you decide to go with BTCitcoin mining, go for Avalon's A7 (less efficient but very durable) and if you decide to go for altcoins mining, it looks like a gambling at the moment, but the re-sale value is still great in most cases (for high end GPU's).

Like SFR said, profits overall for Altcoin mining have jumped off a cliff and most cards will make ROI around 10 months-1 year due to this. The A7s are pretty much as reliable and durable as it gets nowadays, but they're unfortunately OOS right now. I'd just wait for the next batch and see if you can get the miners you need. Your electrical cost is fine, I used to mine at $.065/kWh. Some people also bought Ebit miners and they reportedly run just fine but I don't have personal experience with them. They also have an all Chinese GUI (have they changed it?),which isn't a problem because I am Chinese, but it might be for some. Not like it's impossible to navigate without knowing Chinese.

If you have $100k to spend and your best resource is asking anonymous people on a forum what you should do, maybe this isnt where you should be spending your money.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

With 100k isnt it better to just buy Bitcoin , and maybe some alts (ZEC, ETH) and just hold. There is no way you can mine it as fast as it grows.
