I just got the idea of starting this thread from reading another post of a guy who lost 85 BTC because of a hacker. I have heard many similar stories from people over the years. Sometimes because the owner was very careless with security, other times the hacker got into their phone, email etc and one time where the owner had no idea how the attacker got into his computer. He did a complete check afterwards by an expert to find any keyloggers etc. Accounts are taken over here on BTT all the time too it seems

I think it would be a good idea for people who were robbed to post their stories in one place (as painful as it might be) so others might learn from it. There are a lot of new uses to crypto this year who no doubt will make the same mistakes we all did.
For me the only threat was from the usual email phishing trying to get you to click on a link. I also got a few strange calls from India/Pakistan some time ago. I don't have enough crypto to warrant a hacking attempt but many here do.

I think the developer should secure this forum so that this will not happen again.

the world is ruled by machines which are supposed to do work instead of us, i've read that topic and i can feel his frustration and, as stated many times in this forum, bitcoin is not for everyone.
There is a technology behind to be understood in order to embrace BTC, secondly, i work in IT companies since 1997, the main issue with pc and technologic stuff doesn't allow ignorance.
Let me explain, if you screw your pc with virus it's just a matter losing data because you need to format your pc in the worst case, but what if the data are actually your BTC?
It might not be the nicest thing to say in this case, but for 99% of the times you get your pc infected it's a clear case of P.E.B.K.A.C (Problem Exist Between Keyboard And Chair).. machines does no mistakes, computers does what they are told to, if you give wrong commands you screw up, money or not involved.
And please, please and please again, DO NOT listen to people on the internet who claim to be "expert hacker".. these guys are 14 years old with no idea about what they are talking about (or are just scammers trying to screw you up even more).

Just a quick and free hint to everyone: if you have a windows machine, enable and keep updated windows defender. it works flawlessly now (not in the past)

P.S. do i need to mention to NOT click any "free moneyz!!1!" link around? If you really really want to click it, run your windows defender and an anti spyware/keylogger for a full disk check; remember scammers use people ignorance to screw you up.
I'm free to give advices if needed..
