Why does cgminer show 0 or 9.22E for the (0s) average

So I attached a screenshot below of one of my miners.  Under (0s) it always shows funny numbers that are not correct.  For example I am averaging 1.2 GH with these 2 cards but under (0s) it sometimes shows 0 or and E number?  This happens on 80% of my miners.  I 1st thought it was my switch or router,  but not sure.  This is CGMINER 3.1.1,  and it also happens on 5 or 6 different verisons of cgminer,  and on 3 different pools??
