Hello

After looking up specs of some mining machines and putting them up for sale, I noticed most of these machines waste a high amount of energy. Firstly converting AC power to DC at a much lower voltage and cooling power supply that's working hard to keep up. Then running fans to blow head off the heat sinks that are taking heat off the chips that are also working very hard. Next in a lot of cases trying to cool the building that houses all this.

Common sense to me says start with AC in the first place, then use heat recovery to cool the chips down, also under clocking the chips to use less power and run cooler in the first place. I know some people use solar and wind, but  they seem to convert from DC to AC then use a power supply to convert back to DC, seems crazy to me.

With a large power bank (battery), you could cut out the AC bit.

Maybe I've missed something?

I understand this would may not work for the home user, but bigger player's it could and there  would be next no noise. A lot less fans.

You are talking about a DC output from solar panels, etc. that is high voltage and high amperage and a DC input into electronics that is low voltage, low amperage for the most part.

There is no one who will create a direct interface to split DC power input directly to mining hardware... This is so highly customized and is much harder than it may seem.

Also, no one wants to underclock their hardware, since it results in diminished hashrate. As for cooling, even with DC, you will have to perform an equal amount of cooling, heat is a by-product of electrons moving across conductive materials, so you'll have to move it away from the chips, whether through classic heatsinks or watercooling or some more fancy things, there's no way around it.

Now, a solar-panel with all of this integrated would be awesome, don't get me wrong! But I would be interested in knowing who has all the skills/capital to do all of that and how big of a market there is for such a product.
