Rapper Cardi B ranted Thursday about how much she’s paying in taxes and demanded answers on where the money is going.

So you know the government is taking 40 percent of my taxes,” she said in a video posted on social media. “Uncle Sam, I want to know what you’re doing with my fucking tax money.”

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper ripped the lack of transparency in where her tax money goes, demanding detailed receipts from the government.

When you donate to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates of what they're doing with your donation,” she said. “I want to know. I want receipts. I want everything.”

She also questioned why New York City streets and the subway system are “always dirty” when she’s paying hefty taxes.

I’m from New York, the streets is always dirty. It’s one of the dirtiest cities in America. What is ya’ll doing. There’s rats on the damn trains. I know ya’ll not spending it in no damn prison, because ya’ll be giving n——s like two underwear, one jumpsuit for like five months. So what is ya’ll n——s doing with my fucking money?” she yelled.

In another video late last year, Cardi B asked people who owe her money to wait to send her the check until 2018, saying the IRS is “trying to come” for her during tax season.

Cardi B likely brought in millions in income last year as her hit song “Bodak Yellow” remained at the top of the charts for months.

....

I have not the faintest clue who Cardi B is but... I love this woman!   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Well, I love what she's saying anyway. What a world where the only person publicly asking questions about tax policy is a female rap artist.

She raises many interesting points. Where do taxes go? Are big government implementations of our system cost effective or efficient? Do taxpayers receive tangible positive benefits for the sum of money they donate into the system? I suspect that as time passes these types of questions will become more prominent and widespread.

I just watched Cardi B's rap video which has 500 million views. She wears a dress with an Anarchist "A" on it. I guess that's where her questioning of the government stems from.

This is an amusing story  Cheesy Cheesy but also the truth, she even asking for the receipt from the government about where and how her money went since the quality of New york street is deterioating. However i dont think government will pay attention to that, its just the same to any government in any country, its too big of a hassle.

This is an amusing storybut i do  not agree with it. Probably she attended a public school and she got free education. Did she think that taxes was actually pay8ng for her education. Shes a rapper and most likely she has a car.  Well taxes built that roads. Well you get the point it is valid to question if the taxes are going to an impotant things but questioning where the taxes goes she just need to gi outside and see that almost everything are paid by taxes.

Yeah tax is so damn crazy issue anywhere in the world. Kudos to some government officials who really and heartily serve the country without any bad intentions. I really hate those officials who are greed and corrupt that is why I am here working in this crypto world rather thqn working in a job full of taxes. Governments are now watching celebrities with high income and extort them without any receipts and transparency from where the money is going we can't even feel that our taxes are counted or they just it on their own pockets because they fail to give the service we wanted but I don't know about their side too they should explain everything to us.

BIG WINNER!

She did not said where all her tax money goes but to sum her question up, she wants to know where the 40 percent of taxes go since if you really do go out and see the world, you will really think that they do not return all of the taxpayer's money to citizens. I can understand where those goes though, to the salary of public servants, policemen and teachers in public schools but IMO 40 percent of taxes is too many.

Rapper Cardi has its points but posting it on the social media is not the proper way to do it. To know how those funds were used and utilized then you should head to the budget section of the City Hall. I am working in the government and I have a clear idea how the taxes worked well. Peoples taxes are being appropriated to different categories and if you will try to count it all sometimes the budget isnt enough to fund all the government projects and activities and that is why we have prioritization of projects.

I don't think it's too hard to find some data on where taxes are going, and you'd be able to see that the US is wasting so much money on uneccessary of corruption ridden things. I don't understand if people like Cardi B are dumb, oblivious, or just trying to stir up some news by saying something that everyone supports.

Everyone hates taxes for spending money on some useless things. That's nothing new, even because some random rapper said it.

Funny, well, for example:
In 2016, about 45.8 million people relied on food stamps to feed themselves, according to USDA numbers. The data also showed that 44% of the participants in the food program live in families with income. Almost two thirds of the participants are children, the elderly or citizens with disabilities.

And yes, many of them are African-American.
