Personally, I don't like Exodus... it doesn't let you create (and therefore test) backups until AFTER you've deposited coins... you have no control over fees... you have no way to control the installation process (cannot customise install/data directories)... and it is "closed" source.
Electrum is a solid, well known desktop wallet that is open source, lightweight and reliable. It may not look all fancy, or support altcoins, but it allows a LOT more control, has (pay per transaction) 2FA support, MultiSig support and can be used in an offline configuration for cold storage etc.
I highly recommend NOT using MBHD (or classic) both are no longer supported, and MultiBitHD will likely "break" due to an incompatibility with it's (older) BitcoinJ library choking on some newer transactions and giving the dreaded "Password did not unlock the wallet" error on startup.
Tl;DR - Get Electrum
