I have considered mining Bitcoin with my ASIC for 6 months to a year, and then moving over to currencies such as Bytecoin, Terracoin, PPCoin, or Freicoin.

What do you plan on mining?

BTE could really use some help, they can't even confirm transactions in under a month or thereabouts.

Spiral of death happened to BTE. Difficulty readjusts every 2016 blocks. Right after one new rounds started, hashpower quickly moved and because the difficulty was too high and the hashrate is too low and the difficulty round started a while ago, it takes much longer to crack each block. Not 10 minutes, but hours and hours. ASICs will definitely help that.

Know of any company that ships ASICs right upon order completions (this includes order payment)? Every time I visit a site that claims they sell ASICs they always say they deliver orders payed before <enter previous year here>. It's ridiculous. Plus they only accept payment in BTC I haven't been able to find a company that will accept cash payment yet.

No. We are still in a pre-ASIC stage. Wait 6 months and then you will get what you are looking for.

If we're still in "pre-ASIC age" then why are there so many bitcoiners complaining about rising difficulty? They blame it on ASIC miners as if there was already a significant number of them. Yet I know that very few ASICs have even been delivered since they were ordered about a year ago.

Correction, the businesses still aren't open for orders. My sentence form was horrible lol. All of the ASIC companies are still fulfilling pre-orders. Once they are done, then you may get what you want.
