Alt coins goes dead for months at a time maybe even years before a moon shot. Can you really rule them out?

Definetely some of them will be dead, some will be dead this year and so on but altcoins are actually very different compared to past and there are really valuable ones in the market which deserve to gain value over years like bitcoin.
