The rise of bitcoin is seeing an increasing number of students signing up for cryptocurrency classes at top computer science schools such as Stanford.

According to Dan Boneh, co-director of the Stanford Computer Security Lab and professor of cryptography, he is attracting a large number of people to his cryptocurrency courses. As a cryptography researcher for almost 30 years, Boneh began teaching a bitcoin and cryptocurrency class in 2015, attracting more than 100 students. His online cryptography course has seen over one million signing up, reports CNBC.

As a result of bitcoin’s increase in value more students are turning their attention to learning more about them. To date, the digital currency has hit a new all-time high near $6,500 pushing its market value above $100 billion. It’s no surprise then that a rising interest is being experienced. Aside from the huge attraction in the valuation of cryptocurrencies, Boneh believes that they have another benefit too.

The laudable initiative of some top computer schools such as Stanford aimed at offering Cryptocurrency courses in their respective schools is a significant feature symbolizing the trust and confidence of both the schools' administrators and the Cryptocurrency technologists in the value of Cryptocurrency educational system. Attracting a large number of students to various top computer schools' Cryptocurrency courses can help students sign up for Cryptocurrency classses, thus producing qualified students who can be able to land some bitcoin-related jobs in the Bitcoin industry and eventually invest their money in such currency trading. I believe that a similar rise of enrolment of students to take Cryptocurrency courses in some other computer schools will take place in the near future.

This is great.
Right now there is a sever lack of qualified blockchain developers.
This is one of the limiting factors in growth in the short term.

I am sure that this is just the beginning of more interest with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency for many schools here and abroad. There are so many things interesting with Bitcoin and they are all worth to be shared to the students in order to educate them on how cryptocurrency can be revolutionizing their generation ans the many generations to come. I am expecting that soon someone can come up with a Satoshi Nakamoto College or even a university renamed under his famous name somewhere.

Years from now, we might see the subject of cryptocurrency to become a part of the curriculum for many schools and certainly this can help in spreading the movement started by Satoshi and this is also in recognition of the many things he contributed on the said arena. Certainly, we are now entering a time when cryptocurrency is recognized for what it is and not according to what naysayers are saying it to be.

Long live, Bitcoin!

Almost everything they teach can be found on the Web. If professor did not invent his own blockchain or crypto technology of course. But maybe such courses can wake up students and shake their brains. Best programmers are a self-educated genius.

Thanks for summing it up and providing some of the popular courses available online related to cypto currencies. Good to share with new joiners in this blockchain technology.  Also many people do ask many times where they can learn more about this and this is the perfect guide to them as it has some very good articles and explanations about it.

Self-taught can only develop the concept. But this is not enough. To develop and realize any project can command. You are probably confusing the fact that the developer of bitcoin's Satoshi Nakamoto, but it's not necessarily one person. I'm sure that behind this nickname hides a big team. And most importantly we don't know who financed this project.
