Hey guys I wanted to ask what should I do for someone new into electrum as I think its a good wallet for someone using it for no higher then $500 so I wanted to know should i use a standard wallet or 2fa wallet?

Well it depends on how much computer knowledge you have, if you feel like you can be easily hacked then go with the 2fa, but if you think you have great understanding of how these machines work then go with standard wallet.

I think standard wallet is enough just make sure your pc is clean because there are some viruses  can hack your account..
So install anti virus like kaspersky that support cryptocurrency to protect your pc..  
I am using standard wallet and never had any problem..
I already tried the 2fa wallet its really secured wallet than a standard but i hardly to back up the private keys i'm getting different address when recovering it..
So i recommend   the standard wallet..  
You can also try the segwit supported i think much more secured and less fee if you send bitcoin to other bitcoin address..

does kasperky support mac and heard now a days that antivirus are malware inside regardless

You don't need an anti-virus on a mac. Very few malware programs are aimed at mac and linux users so no point running an anti-virus.
