Hi everyone, i'm quite new in the Crypto Word ( 3 - 5 months) i understand the big things about the blockchain, trading, ect but i want to improve my skills & learn more deeply about the "pro & cons" of a currency  before betting any FIAT on it. I'm currently part of a Discord group (La Baleine), a bunch of french guy very competent and nice, where i ask a lot of question but i'm still confuse about what makes a good projet or no.

So if anyone can guide me, give me a little explanation about the concept (in computer science or engineering) i need to know before invest on a ICO or currency because i'm a little lost with all the specialist in the game lol.

ICOs are the wild west of funding as of right now. Personally I like Monaize, but I am not here to shill.

I suggest you start with some overviews of the general state of ICOs by doing a quick google.
This can dig up a ton of information about what exactly makes this stuff worthwhile.
As far as valuation of coins/companies and the like, it gets very difficult.
This takes time and experience.

Essentially there are two ways to do this. Fundamentals and technical analysis.
Technical analysis (TA) should work in these markets, in theory. But to be quite honest these markets are manipulated to all hell by people who have wayyyyyyyy too much money. If you can learn to watch the whales (heh whale watcher) and chase what they do within the markets you can multiply your investments easily.

Personally I am more of a fundamentals trader.
One of the things I look for in the fundamentals of a coin/project is development. There are tons of other aspects such as marketing, communication, community, etc. but without the technology or development skills behind a great idea - a great idea is just a pipe dream.
One example I can give of innovation and dev skill is Komodo. I am not realllllly heavily invested right now, but I do think they have tons of potential in thelargeer scheme of things and are way undervalued.
Ive been lurking since 2013 and really only doing this this with new projects and getting involved in the last few months.
