Alt-Coins Announcements

I am wandering where can I learn and follow up about new coins being announced and released?

I've been mining the established currencies for some months now, and ventured a bit with the new alts popping up at Cryptsy.
But I would like to try and get in the action earlier. Where the devs are making their announcements for new alts? This forum, troll boxes... ?

I'm pretty new to all this malarkey, but one thing I think I realised kinda early is most if these coins aren't worth shit.

People looking for very short term profit by trying to get in early.

Bitcoins are the only ones with any real future value, small chance in light coins and even smaller chance in feather coins.

Anything else isn't worth even looking at.

As I say I'm new to this and someone may have a good argument for the alts, but I've not seen it yet.

I would say best place to look would be this forum under the Alternate Cryptocurrency thread.  That way you can get into the action weeks/months before it even hits cryptsy.
