I hope I've posted this to the correct section, couldn't find a forum that matched.

I think I have Bitcoin Cash somewhere and am trying to get hold of it. I held 1 Bitcoin before the August fork. I have since sold the bitcoin (after spending 2 months looking for where I hid my recovery phrase) so have zero balance. I have been using BreadWallet. I believe if I use the BitCoin wallet my Bitcoin Cash should show up, is that correct? The thing is I can't import my wallet into Bitcoin wallet at it doesn't like my recovery phrase from BreadWallet.

Am I going about things completely wrongly?

Thanks!

You should be able to import your bitcoin wallet private key on a bitcoin cash wallet unless the recovery phrase you are referring to is not your private key. I am not familiar with the wallet you use so I can't really answer accurately. Is it a wallet that allows users to access their private key? If it is then you should have 1 bitcoin cash if you haven't sold it before august 1 even if you have 0 balance in btc now. If not then you won't have bcc even if you held 1 btc before fork if breadwalleet didn't support bcc.

the surest but still easiest way to find out if you have any bitcoin cash is to check your addresses balances on a block explorer that is for bitcoin cash.

i recommend this one: https://bitcoincash.blockexplorer.com/ it is easy, just paste your bitcoin addresses there to see their balances. if it is not 0 then you have some bitcoin cash.
then if it was still worth it, download one of their wallets like electron-cash for example and import your private keys there to be able to spend them.

Thanks. I checked the address I received my BitCoin to on 24th May. No mention of BCH on there but it says balance of 0.99918883 BTC??

I didn't think what wallet you used would affect whether you received the Bitcoin Cash or not!

In case anyone else has the same issue, I managed to get my BCC into the Bitcoin wallet from Breadwallet. Open Bitcoin Wallet and create a new wallet with Bitcoin Cash checked. Copy address from this wallet. Open Breadwallet, got to Advanced Settings, click Withdraw BCH and paste in the address. It turned up in the other wallet within minutes.

I hope and I have sent this to the correct part, I think and I have Bitcoin Cash somewhere and I am trying to get it. I hold 1 Bitcoin in front of a fork in the month I made bitcoin and I have not sold bitcoin so I have no balance or zero. I believe if I use a Bitcoin purse, and my Bitcoin Cash should appear, is that correct? The problem is I can not import my wallet into Bitcoin purse because it is not like my recovery phrase from Bread Wallet.
Do I do things that are completely wrong or flawed? I am always and sure I can succeed in bitcoin.
