Just got mine a week ago, has been mining for about 5 days now.

I see that the only way to power down is to unplug the PSU, I've read that its safe, anyone have on-hand experience with this?

Also, how often do you shut it down to let rest and for how long?

You can cause no damage by straight unplugging the miner and it's the most reliable and easy way to turn off miners. You can unplug and replug your miner in as quickly as you can and it'll still run just fine. I turn off all my miners like this, nothing bad has happened as a result of it.

Rest would assume it get's tired Smiley Sorry couldn't resist. Like mentioned simply unplugging them is fine, the only reason I would power mine down would be for maintenance or cleaning. Otherwise you're losing money.
