Firstly, I would like to get this out in the open - I am a newb. I transferred some stratis coins onto my ledger nano s hardwallet and after some time I decided to send it back so I could cash it out. I sent it back using the Stratis address which appeared in the ledger in the 'from' row - and now the coins are gone from my ledger (expectedly) but seem to have vanished into the oblivion of the blockchain. I used the chainz website to search for my transaction using the 'to' address that appears in my ledger and I can find it, however the balance says O. Where did my coins go? I feel I have done something catastrophically wrong.

I am using the Ledger Wallet Bitcoin to send and receive my coins from my ledger

Any help is highly appreciated

Hello there! I have used ledger wallet by myself, not with nano S tho. There should be a part where you can resync the blockchain under options -> tools -> reset application data or something similar.
Im not sure if nano S has that option, but you should check anyway. Please do that and report back, so if that does not work we will try some other methods.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have other coins on my ledger, will a application data reset affect them too?

It should affect them as well, however im not 100% sure about it. I assume you have copy of your seed right?
It resets all of the application data on the computer so every coin will be resynced. Nothing should happen to the Nano S but it's always good to have backups in case something actually goes wrong with the process.

Yes, I have my seed copy (24 random words). How do I create a backup? I thought the seed itself was a backup. Just to clarify, the existing coins will be resynced but won't disappear following  a reset?

I don't know then. Have you checked if you can see the addresses that were generated from your seed on the ledger?
Check if you even have the address listed there where you sent the Stratis to. If you can, then i think that pretty much the only thing you can do is to restore the seed to official Stratis wallet and then spend.
Im not exactly sure how Nano S works, so would be a great if you could take a look around and see if you can find anything that could contain list of the public addresses that are usable in ur wallet and made from your seed.
