Hi,

A few years ago I bought some Bitcoin to buy a subscription. I think there was a fraction of Bitcoin in change.
I never bothered with this, but now it could be worth looking at.

I have this info in a text file:

A long pass phrase
A password
An identifier string
Bitcoin address
deposit into address
blockchain.info

Any idea how I could use this to try and find out if I have any Bitcoin?

Thanks,

Floob.

You can use the bitcoin adress on https://blockchain.info/ and see if there's any balance.

If so, it might be worth trying to login here -> https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/ with the identifier + your passphrase / password.

I believe only blockchain.info uses an identifier like that, so your bitcoins are probably stored there.

Do you by any chance also have a long list of random words? (And by list i mean 12-13 words.)

If so, try and import those words into a wallet such as electrum, to see if that wallet holds any bitcoin. https://electrum.org/#home

(Although i'm not too sure if electrum supports the bip seed generation of blockchain.info by default. If not you'll need to try it in a different hardware wallet.)

SO your wallet is with Blockchain.info?

You'll need to go to them. Try to use your pass phrase and password to recover your wallet. I assume you don't have your private keys since you didn't list it in your OP.

Start here: https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/help

Recover access to your wallet and then see if there's a balance. Actually...what's your Bitcoin address? We can find out now if there is any balance.

Thanks very much for your help.

I can now see I have (@ 23:30 GMT) 205 USD of Bitcoin.
I bought 0.6 Bitcoin in 2013 and bought something for marginally less, and I now have 0.02129 Bitcoin

So no retirement yet Smiley
