[2017-12-04] A test version of the side chain Rootstock has been launched

It will allow to create smart contracts in the Bitcoin network. The test version of the side chain is called Ginger. It is an open source code that will help to increase the number of transactions to 2000 per second in the Bitcoin network and up to 20,000 transactions per second in the side-client (without resorting to Bitcoin). Prior to this, the most popular ecosystem for creating smart contracts was the Ethereum network.
