Question: Receiving Vertcoin from Blockchain

Hi.... Simple question from a n00b.  In the month of October, I had downloaded and installed Electrum version 2.9.3.3 and created my wallet.  I used the Receiving Address it provided to convert some Bitcoin from the Shape Shift coin converter, in which my output address for the Vertcoin was the previously mentioned Receiving Address provided by my Electrum wallet.  I made a receive request for the exact amount, but I never saw the transaction post within Electrum.  According to the Block Chain link provided by Shape Shift, the transaction was/is completed.  I can view that link to this day.  Problem is, I want to see it within Electrum... I downloaded the latest version 3.0.2 and re-accessed my original wallet with the seed key but again I see nothing.

My question is, what do I need to do in order to see those Vertcoin funds in my wallet?  Again, I have the links to the block chain transactions

Did you try to send your Vertcoins to the same Electrum wallet where you store your Bitcoins? Because to receive and send Vertcoins, you need to download the Vertcoin version of Electrum[1] and not the official Electrum wallet (for Bitcoin) found in electrum.org;
