Hi all. I'm not sure where to put this... it's about mining altcoins, so here is ok I guess. Wink

Can someone who has been there, done that, please tell me; What's the best way to expedite a shipment from Bitmain (etc) through Australian customs.

Specifically, which customs brokers have you found to be the quickest with reasonable fees?

I have selected Fedex as the courier.

They will normally contact you, you pay what you owe for import duties, then its released and delivered.

I use DHL and it's normally only held up a day at most, if you pay straight away.

Fees are basically the same for each, 10% tax on rrp, + admin / handling, ridiculous..

When I first got into mining, I bought 3 * 1080ti from the states on separate orders. Of course they held them all because they were listed to deliver to the same name/address.

I didn't mind paying the fees, but they were held up for TWO WEEKS in Australian customs, at a time when a single 1080ti was earning $15usd per day!

I really don't want to repeat that experience, hence asking here. I'm happy to pay in full the charges, but I want it to arrive ASAP.

Thanks for all the comments.

What caused the delay? Usually if you just cooperate and give them all the information they need you shouldn't have to wait "TWO WEEKS."

Had a bad experience with customs declaring the wrong value on one of my Bitmain ASICs though. They looked at the price of the S9 ASIC on AMAZON instead of the real bitmain website. Instead of pricing it correctly at $1500 they based the fees off the amazon price which was $5000. Crazy buggers mate. I told them to shove it up. They corrected the price after a few complaints from me.
