(quick PSA: don't keep exposure to any exchange or fund product as it leads to a central point of failure)

For some years now worldwide investors have had the option to invest in the tracking of Bitcoin price through XBT Provider's Exchange Traded Note (ETN) listed on Nasdaq Nordic (Sweden/Stockholm). If your broker allows you to by foreign-listed companies you can probably do this.

Their website
https://xbtprovider.com/

Anyone care to share their experience?

Bloomberg ticker: COINXBT ;  https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/COINXBT:SS
InteractiveBrokers in USA uses ticker BITCOINXB

I've heard InteractiveBrokers in USA this week is shutting down trading access to BITCOINXB and all of XBT's products - anyone else want to comment?

This I'm sure has created selling pressure.

Discuss here.

Interesting. I didn't know that there had been a way to invest in that from the US.

Anyone know what the status on XBT Provider is and if they are getting added back to Interactive Brokers? Is IB going to force liquidate or can any already purchased shares just be held until needing to sell?

I overheard that they are not force liquidating those who had already previously purchased and those can call-in to close out the position.

Where'd you hear that? It's been really hard to get any info on CoinXBT. Do you know if anyone is doing a class action on CoinXBT? They really dropped the ball on how much they converted their BTC Cash for (like $300 a BCH). Wouldn't surprise me if they sold for more or still have it and are just hiding the excess. In any event, a 90 day "observation period" does not mean dump during that 90 days Tongue

Also, is IB going to be making the request for the BCH distribution or do individuals have to do it? CoinXBT set up a claims site, but as the shares are held by IB in trust, would make sense for them to get the funds and send out to owners. Then again, it seems like the IB CEO absolutely hates crypto. Hilarious how he turned off access to the funds and then they went moon. Wouldn't surprise if the CEO is a secretly pro-BTC and wanted more for themselves Tongue
