New Sapphire 6970's Verification failed, check hardware! How to resolve this ?

Hello and thank you for any help you can provide.

Been mining with two AsusHD5770 for several months with no problems.
Installed a new sapphire HD6970 and I get Verification failed, check hardware error.

GUIMiner-v2012-12-03
slush pool  set to stratum.bitcoin.cz  port3333
Asus M5A97 MB
FX8core processor
12gigRAM
750watt PSU Antek
Win7pro 64bit

Catalyst
CCC ver 13-4 ( I tried removing and installing CCC 12-10 and GUIMiner would not load )
GPU clock and memory clock are at factory default speeds  880Mhz and 1375Mhz

Any ideas to to get this card to pass verification ?

Maybe just do an RMA and save the troubles

I removed the catalyst 13.4 and installed 13.1 and it solved the problem.  It was able to connect and start accepting shares.  But it dropped from 380Mhash  down to 320Mhash  ( using default settings  880 / 1375 MHz clock speeds )

I didn't like giving up 50Mhash so I closed out GUIminer and started playing with cgminer 3.1.0  and now it's running at 376.5Mhash
Now I just need to add the other HD6970 and see if I can get that speed from both of them.
