Can you explain what problems you have had?
He already stated that he has issues with both sending and receiving in bitcoin. To answer that question, Yes, we are all having issues with our transactions with bitcoin because the bitcoin network is experiencing a congestion which results in longer confirmation times. There had been many delays in other payments too in other bitcoin campaigns but we don't have to worry that much because this will all be fixed in due time.

The problem isn't particularly a problem on Breadwallet's side, but on the whole bitcoin blockchain in general. There are currently so much transactions to be confirmed
(currenly at around 95,000 Unconfirmed Transactions; source: https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions). You can still send and receive transactions, but it will definitely take time if the sender doesn't use a higher transaction fee.
