Nicholas Nassim Taleb, one of the most famous philosophers of the present, the practician, the trader, the author of excellent books gave an interview!
"One of the greatest disappointments of our era — globalization hasn't resulted in an intellectual variety, hasn't generated pluralism of opinions. On the contrary, we see that the whole world begins to behave as the centralized system: society will be clustered, there is a division on "our" and "your"."
"The media's audience are those whom I call "intellectual idiots". Actually just to cheat the redneck ("hard worker") incredibly difficult. If you look for whom to deceive, the best candidate is someone like the reader of The New Yorker. This person argues so: if I am an intellectual (and I, undoubtedly, the intellectual) — means, I understand what occurs in the world. He despises rednecks, including their incapable of critical thinking. At the same time he doesn't realize a simple thing: any person who doesn't feed himself with intellectual work is already by default the expert as his profession is directly connected with the real world."
Question: What is the greatest opportunity now which shouldn't be missed?
— It the movements from below which resist to totalitarian "official opinion". For example, those which we observe in Catalonia now. Yes, it hasn't led to emergence of the certain state. But in an example with Catalonia we see attempt of people to express opinion which isn't imposed by the state. More such movements as they lead to decentralization, an opportunity to test the maximum quantity of different versions of the administrative device and to choose those which suit people are necessary.
