I'm new to mining, setting up a 5 card rig (waiting on a 6th card...damn Fedex) with Sapphire RX 470 8gb mining edition, Hynix/micron memory. I'm using the AMD Blockchain workload drivers suggested by Cryptobadger on both the Xubuntu setup and Windows 7. When I strapped  ONLY Hynix memory(which runs all the way to 2250) from 1500 to 2000 it worked and boosted the Hashrate on all 5 cards 24.4 Mh/s from 21. I can only get Claymore to run with these cards on my mining setup with Xubuntu; I have been unable to mine with any software on windows 7 with these cards.

When I try to change the voltages, or anything else besides timing straps in Polaris, then use ATI to flash it, It programs… then usually when I try to patch it says “already patched”. Almost like it doesn't recognize any change in the BIOS. The only time this doesn't happen is when I flash original bios, or the 1500-2000 strap. Then it will allow me to patch. The 1500 to 2000 strap seems to be the only thing that has had a positive impact on mining. I don't know if it actually programmed, but when I strapped the Micron memory 1500 to 2000 I lost half a MH. I have heard Micron memory sucks, and that Hynix memory sucks from a variety of sources. I've also heard people getting 30MH/s+ from both hynix and micron. I'm concerned these cards on junk, although I'm hoping I can salvage them.

In addition, radeon settings won’t load(presumably because I have mining edition cards, and can’t plug into a display). My computer, MSI, STRIX all recognize the Sapphire mining edition cards.

Neither MSI afterburner nor STRIX will work on windows 7 with the AMD cards, MSI and Strix "work" on the NVidia card (in that I can change the voltage, clocks, and fan variables although I can only get 7MH/s no matter what I've done with the asus gtx 970). Again, potentially because there is a driver problem.

I would really appreciate some help. I've been working on this nonstop with my brother for 3 days and other than the minor strap suggested by cryptobadger I've had no positive impact on mining. I've searched all I could on these forums and the internet for a solution to the radeon settings problem and found nothing.

At the current settings that get me 24.4MH/s, the cards are running at 60 Degrees Celcius or under. The fans are running at 20% or so. It seems like the card isn't being pushed at all but I can't figure out how to do it since I'm unable to use MSI or Strixx.

Obviously would appreciate free support although I understand if you are only willing to help/ give straps if I pay. Send me a PM with a quote and what you think these cards can achieve.
Thanks
