Many projects based in currency baskets offer "global currencies".
The nearest approximation to a global currency, the International Monetary Fund’s special drawing rights, consists purely of a basket of developed world currencies.
But other projects like GLOBCOIN, who are creating cryptocurrencies linked to the value of fiat currencies, seem to be well diversified. They incude emerging market currencies such as the Chinese renminbi, the Indian rupee and the Brazilian real in the weight index of their currency.
Do you think this is a good idea?
