Corelation between an altcoins value quoted in USD and BTC

Hello, so I`ve been trying to figure out what exactly affect correlation between the price of the coin when quoted in USD and BTC ?

While looking at charts, I found that some coins show direct correlation between trends in their $ and BTC prices.
While others show a clean inverse correlation. On the other hand some coins even show a whipsaw range market when quoted in one, but a clean trend when quoted in the other.  https://preview.ibb.co/j5kjQR/CRYPTOCOR.jpg
Can anyone please explain this to me?
