Most coins use the git repos of other coins then just build or edit the code base to suit there needs.
The market is full of coins at the moment unless you really have some groundbreaking new tech in the industry it's not going to be advisable to try make your own coin.

You will need to know things like C++ for building things like wallets most of the code you need is available on github.

Good Luck.

Since most of the development resources of crypto currencies are open to the world, you can find most of required resources and knowledge from the currently available coins. Most of the Altcoins were follow the same method to develop the coins. After getting core from another coin, they modify as their requirement. Of-course you certainly should know one of computer language to do so.

It takes alot of knowledge in coding. You also need blockchain engineer who can setup nodes. Alot of people fork from a open source coin such as NXT. Many coins existing today are forks of other coins.

When you think about creating a new digital currency it’s easy to assume the first step would be to begin coding your coin, but that’s the wrong place to start, according to Chris Ellis, a London entrepreneur and a community activist at Feathercoin.
These forums were very tech focused and not very welcoming to newcomers or minority groups which are often served better by smaller teams,” Ellis says. “The forums did not make it easy for people to get involved in the development of the coin. Many people on these forums take a backseat and speculate on the price rather than actively getting involved.

It depends on which cryptocurrency platform based on.

If you want to create totally new one then it will be so hard. But if you use cryptocurrency platforms such as Ethereum or NXT then it will be easier.

As "Freelancer Coin" said;

 there are ways to use as blockchain technology; BTC, ETH, IOTA... However, if you really wanna go with your UNIQUE one, then It'll take too long to CODE it. There are coders who can do that, but will take time.

 Best way to register an ETHERIUM WALLET then, inside it will drive you how to create your own wtout no any coding... Give urself a try and if it'll work, send me some Wink

 Meantime, we are group of people who can manage your project from scratch A to Z. But will costly. Website, Design, TOKEN creation, ICO, Digital Marketing etc...

  Wink
