So, there seems to be alot of different trading platforms out there for Altcoins, an I just wanted to get some opinions from everyone about which ones are the best and why.
What makes one trading platform better than another?
Why do prices vary from platform to platform?
Do you use multiple ones and transfer coins between them to make profits?

try cryptsy.
Usually prices are the same (otherwise: arbitrage).
But all coins are not supported by all websites

I like Cryptsy and mcxNOW, they seem to be the most stable for altcoins.

There's also a new one called crypto-trade (see sig for link) which looks really promising, but I haven't really used it properly yet.

I was looking at this one earlier... i really like the layout.
I already use cryptsy and BTC-e, I was just wondering if there are ANY benefits to using one over the other.

I had to use mtgox to get money from US bank into BTC, then transferred BTC to BTC-e... lost alot because of the price difference.

I like Cryptsy for the large listings, mcxNOW has cool features like an hourly lottery that your automatically entered in if you purchase any coins. I like to keep my options open.
