The cryptocurrency industry is still in a very early stage of development. Some people say that it will take years to reach maturity. Just as the industry, the crypto community is also developing.

Buterin, 23-year-old creator of the Ethereum network, criticized the behavior of the cryptosphere via his Twitter account. Buterin referred to the words of Amir Taaki, who said that Bitcoin was turning into a failed project. A community blinded by numerous price increases and astronomical rate of return may lead to Bitcoin’s destruction, according to Taaki. The statement says:”One day you’ll understand my words, but it will be too late.”

Don’t fight the inevitable: there will be an enormous Gold rush (we haven’t seen the wickedest yet) and yes, the house will burn down eventually. But the tech won’t vanish and the rush comes with essential infrastructure creation and adoption by larger parts of the world population. And I am sure that Vitalik knows all this.

So I take his tweet more as virtue signalling knowing that it will not change anything to what’s coming except for him being able to later on say the words: ‘told you so’. Well, that provides me with zero extra knowledge, Vitalik.

maybe, maybe not. ethereum's entire life cycle took place well after the 2013 bitcoin bubble. it's important to remember that the entire cryptocurrency space and the market events surrounding it are 100% unprecedented. nobody can predict what happens next, even if bitcoin has continued to rise to new highs after each bear market.

i think that both amir and vitalik are coming from a more noble place. neither of them have any want to accumulate capital, and i think both of them had much higher hopes for some "revolution" ushered in by cryptocurrencies and the protocols that would evolve from them. i was never that hopeful myself. i see cryptocurrencies as a shift in wealth distribution and technology, but they aren't revolutionary.

Really sad to see but Vitalik is somewhat saying the truth here. Bitcoin has been turning into a circus act, everyone wants to get a hold of it. Just look at how many forks bitcoin has which disrupts it in a negative way. Bitcoin Cash is one example. The constant debate argument and then bitcoin become a playground for the big boys spinning bitcoin to become one of the best investment asset. Amir Taaki though is very different, he doesn't like what bitcoin direction as well, we all know for a fact that this guy fight for cause and he's tweet is very understandable on his part. He is very frustrated. But both of them has really one thing in common: This is not what they started, not what they want and as @figmentofmyass have said, it's becoming to be a  "a shift in wealth distribution and technology".
