Is crypto kitties still a big thing causing issues with the ethereum network?

I thought it would be more of a temporary hype type of thing, which would settle down after a few weeks.

Either way, draws into question the ability of the ethereum network to upscale.

Maybe with the Etherdelta hack the net will actually go a bit better... until the next massive ICO out there that is. I hope all these technical problems get shorted when ethereum goes PoS
