Hi Forum members,

As a newbie i am not sure if this post is in the corect sub topic.
Question,  What is proper mining hardware for at home use.
electricity needs to be paid so that's a bommer. Price per kw/h is about 0.26 USD

What hardware i am thinking of to use,
GPU to begin with

6X nvidia 1080 TI founders edition 11GB ram
3X GEFORCE GTX SLI HB BRIDGE to make 3 pair
2X Nvidia nForce 790i Ultra SLI ( so 2 mining rigs ) 3 graphics cards per motherboard
2X Intel Core2Duo E7500 cheapest i could find lol
2X Samsung SSD 850 EVO 120 GB
6X sli extensions
2X rig to store the hardware.
2X be quit power zone 1000w

This should be able to mine some serious coins or am i wrong?
If you have any improvements i like to know
Kind regards,

You don't need GPUs in SLI set-up for mining. Instead, SLI setup effects the mining performance pretty hard.
Which motherboard are you planning to use?
Rest of the specs seems fine.

Hi

Im planning to use 2X Nvidia nForce 790i Ultra SLI as mobo
Can you please explain or post a link to an website that can tell me more about effects on mining preformance like you said?
Is it better to hook up de gpu 's to pci slots?

GPU must be connected to PCIe slot so PCI will not work.
I think you could find more modern motherboards when putting so much money on a rig.
It would probably work anyway but you want it to last for a while.
Maybe moderboard with Ryzen CPU to mine some CPU only coins in addition to GPU mining?

I'm new in this world since this month
WHat i know is that cpu mining is not profitable anymore thats why i was putting up an GPU miner machine

Do you have any better specs to mine with the current diff on most coins?

You can mine with the CPU on tour GPU rig as an addition to get some more coins.
As an example my Ryzen 7 1700 get 500 H/s on cryptonight, the same hashrate as my GTX 1060.
I have mined thousands of intensecoins with my CPU before the difficulty and price went up.
It paid itself several times.

Total power consumption is around 2200 watts... so you should have 120% of 2200 so...2600 watts.
a single gtx1080ti eats around 300 kwh without undervolting and with overclocking. (i'm assuming worst case).
also, you don't need SLI bridges.
lastly, you'll have to use PCI raisers to keep these cards away from each other.

goodluck.

some of this build is a waste of money
like for instance
2X Nvidia nForce 790i Ultra SLI ( so 2 mining rigs ) 3 graphics cards per motherboard - get an actual mining motherboard like a asrock h81 pro btc r2.0 that can support ohhh wow 6 gpus, o0o0o0o0o0

2X Intel Core2Duo E7500 cheapest i could find lol - your not looking hard enough for cheapest, anything past a dual core Pentium is a waste and is pointless and overkill
2X Samsung SSD 850 EVO 120 GB - only need 80gb ssd's can be found used on ebay for cheap
6X sli extensions - useless in mining
also the sli bridges are USELESS for mining and actually makes it worse

1000 psu isn't enough to power 3 1080ti's plus the mobo and ssd, that said 1200w psu minimum to make sure theres overhead to account for things like power surges. only an idiot would choose a psu that youd be running at 100 percent and burn it out like a fool

why is it people care not to do enough research before coming on here and asking stupid questions. if you did the research first you would have already found out that some of the hardware you've chosen is just poor choice when there is a lot better choices out there

Sorry for asking stupid questions
And with all the BS info on the internet and the fact that i am a newbie i was wondering for some "help" from the experts
