Hey guys,

I am a newbie miner and One thing  does bother me.
So I recently built mining rig made od 2x 1080 ti and 1x 1070 ti.

I have used decent risers but Didnt power them through sata cables which came along in pack as i heard it may be not safe.

Instead I did the following:

-used one cable (12 pin psu slot divided into two cables 6+2) to power gtx 1070 ti and riser
-used vga cable (12 pin psu slot dovided  into three cables 6 +2) to power two risers for 1080 tis

1080 tis are powered with seperate cable each. I am using psu bequiet dark power pro 11 1200 w.

I am wondering if:
1.two risers plugged with cables coming out from the same 12 pin slot on psu will not be damaged
2.plugging risers directly to psu will not provide too much power for them
3.if one vga cable can be used both for 1070ti and its riser

Sorry for the grammar and style - posting from phone.

1. As you're using 6-pin power slot for your riser, so you're completely fine by powering two 1080ti risers via one cable.
2. The riser will consume the amount of power it requires, not more than needed.
3. Yes, the power consumption of 1070ti is not much compared to 1080ti, so it is perfectly fine to use one cable to power 1070ti and its riser.
