So that you can't easily buy all your BTC worth of a coin. If you want to assure you use all your BTC, are you ready for this. Get out a calculator! Unless your really good at doing long division and multiplication in your head. Then be ready to fiddle with the numbers to use all your BTC because the math of (BTC*.9975) / purchase rate doesn't use all your BTC. So these guys have designed their trade engine to leave behind dust BTC which may not matter as a value but as a principle they are going to do this to rip you off what else are they willing to do? To help you leave behind less then .0001 BTC so you can't withdraw it without spending .0002 to despot more and withdraw which of course isn't worth it. So if you 100 people leave behind 40 sats that adds up a little bit. And they already charge a .25% trade fee.

I don't know about you but I for one am getting really fucking sick of these assholes running these exchanges like this nickle and dimming us. Didn't we get out of Fiat to avoid this kind of Bullshit? This is the behavior of individuals that are not serous about sticking around very long. If they were, some dust would not be on their radar the mass amount of trade fees would be. So being that I was robbed by Coinmarket.io I look out for this kind of shit. So we need to get SPA and any other Alts that only these jokers have to other exchanges and leave them with their dust and none of our business. Alone we are little but together we are strong we must hold these exchanges to a higher standard of business and if they do not comply leave them. Vote for the coin we want on a different exchange and wait it out. As long as we keep giving them our money they will keep doing this.

An exchange I will stand up for and vouch for is Poloniex the guy is usually pretty on top of things and at least once a day is in the Trollbox answering questions. This is an exchange that is going to stick around and grow give them your business because they actually deserve it.

Even when I thought I had calculated correctly it still left behind 1 sat. I know it's nothing but like I said they add up over time and it's shady behavior.

That is not our intent at all and I think you are misunderstanding how a MARKET order works.

If you place a LIMIT order for an amount, we can reserve the right value.  For example,

You place a LIMIT order for 1 LTC @ 0.002760 BTC.  We have to reserve that BTC amount + our commission of 0.25%.  It's pretty straight forward and exact math.

However, if you place a MARKET order for a large amount, we have to reserve 99.75% of your balance for the order, and then .25% for commission.  So we will buy as much as we can with your funds, however, you will most likely have a balance depending on the coin you are left.  Additionally, we then return the commission we reserved for your remaining funds.

There is nothing shady about what we are doing.  If you think we have a bug where we do leave any funds behind, please let me know and we will fix it, but right now, it is working exactly as designed;  If you want to use your entire balance, i suggest you place a LIMIT order so it will be filled completely.

[edit] I was just reminded even in LIMIT orders you may be left with some dust if we fill you at a better price.  For example, if you place a LIMIT order for .002760, but we fill you at .002756 because someone jumped in.  We will refund you the difference of .000002 and the associated commission of .00000001.  This is just the behavior of best price markets.

If you have questions, you can always find us on #bittrex on freenode.  Troll boxes are for trolls Wink

Thanks,
Richie

You have to manual figure out how to spend all your BTC which is stupid. It should be like EVERY OTHER EXCHANGE you click your BTC or or other coin amount and it auto figures and fills the amount including fee. And the math does not workout right anyone that goes to your site and does the math I laid out will find that it does not add up to the total amount of BTC you have. It leaves dust behind, I know I've had to calculate it a couple dozen times manually what a headache. I'm not trolling and anyone can go find out for themselves what I say about your trade engine is true. As to the intent of whether you plan in this design is to create and then sweep up this dust well if you don't fix it then as far as I'm concerned it's your plan to create the dust and keep it.

Every other exchange will not give you the best price match which is why you always "spend all your BTCs" and also why if you mistype a bid, it sometimes will fill the match order instead of the best priced one... If you believe our math is wrong, please lay out a trade executed and lets walk through it.  The dust that is left, is in your account and is your balance that you can withdraw once you a) deposit more b) sell other securities and get more BTC.  I'm not sure what the complaint is here since we are not sweeping it up or keeping it.

And i'm not saying you are trolling... If there is something that isn't understood I'm here to explain it.  I was simply saying that trollboxs are a terrible form of communication and you will never see one on our site.  If you want to have a real discussion about this, feel free to join our IRC channel.

I have to manually calculate how many coins I want to buy with my BTC which completely inefficient when trading. If I want to maximize my profit margin I want to buy ALL coins I can with my BTC. With your exchange that's impossible to achieve without getting out a calculator. And all other exchanges apart from Crypto rush I don't even what to get into THEM right now. Will use all of your BTC to buy at the best market rate. Which is what a lot of people are going to want to do. So I.E. I put .3 BTC up @ .001 for a buy order it buys .3 btc worth at the best market value till my .3 btc is gone. oh someone put up a .000999 sell order yes I buy it with my .0001 but I buy .3 BTC worth of it. And the same goes for selling. I can't believe you actually expect people to do manual math to figure things out on your exchange in what could be a bull or bear stampede.. Seriously it's the 21st century lets act like it.

I figured my above equation is in fact wrong but I also figured out that it's so dam complicated to figure out how to spend all your BTC it's not even worth it. The
The point is your exchange is flawed in the fact that a person has to do math while trying to trade this won't effect someone that wants to buy 200 coins and has a bunch of BTC to just say bam. It will effect people who are trying to marginalize. Just add the function to your site and I will resend my accusation of you trying to create dust to sweep up.

And yes it is easy to leave dust behind if I send BTC to you to buy something and I have dust left over your saying I need to pay .0002 in fees to reclaim .00009999 BTC. Yeah cause that makes sense. So why would anyone do that? Sure maybe I'll do some more trading and send more BTC or maybe I won't. So I would have to just leave it there at which point I'm sure you will sweep all of those up and keep it. I'm really starting to think your either incompetent or lying because the feature I'm saying you should have is a no brainier you can't expect people to do math manually in this industry. So if that's what you guys expect then I'm going to say your thief's or stupid either way doesn't look good for you.

I'm going to try to address your concerns point by point, but if you feel the need to be disrespectful, I'm just as happy to stop trying to explain.

1) We do not charge any fees to reclaim anything.  There are standard network fees, but that is completely out of our control.  I'm not sure where we require any fees for withdrawal.
2) I agree with you that we cater to the "i have x amount, i want to buy y amount" case.  This is how most real world brokerages work.  Orders in Fidelity/Schwab/etc are handle in this exact manner.  It is difficult to say "spend all my money to buy all the AAPL possible'.  Rightly or wrongly, we went with the mature and established model.  This is also the reason why you will never see things on our exchange where you mistype a price, and get matched with something completely off the charts.
3) If you are truly trying to maximize speed trading, no clicking will be fast enough.  That is why we created a full featured API that will allow you to get all the data you need programatically to beat the market.
4) Until you have evidence that we are "sweeping the dust" please refrain from the accusations.  They are completely unsubstantiated or true.  That dust may be worth dollars at some point, and the txfee may drop to a satoshi;  and when that time comes, that balance is still there.

I am not dismissing your concerns.  In your use case, I can see that we'll leave some amount of dust behind, at which point you can always put in another order; but there is nothing shady or stupid about it.  It was designed this way to be robust, redundant, and auditable.

1) We do not charge any fees to reclaim anything.  There are standard network fees, but that is completely out of our control.  I'm not sure where we require any fees for withdrawal.I never said you do but it will cost .0002 to reclaim it

2) I agree with you that we cater to the "i have x amount, i want to buy y amount" case.  This is how most real world brokerages work. This isn't wallstreet and you should "Cater" to all your clients Orders in Fidelity/Schwab/etc are handle in this exact manner. This isn't wallstreet  It is difficult to say "spend all my money to buy all the AAPL possible'.  Big Vern figured it out at Cryptsy Rightly or wrongly, we went with the mature and established model. Are you trying to say that anyone that doesn't trade this way is immature? This is also the reason why you will never see things on our exchange where you mistype a price, and get matched with something completely off the charts. The only exchange I ran into that was Crypto Rush

3) If you are truly trying to maximize speed trading, no clicking will be fast enough.  That is why we created a full featured API that will allow you to get all the data you need programatically to beat the market. I'd rather trust my money to my actions not a mindless computer

(4) Until you have evidence that we are "sweeping the dust" please refrain from the accusations.  They are completely unsubstantiated or true.  That dust may be worth dollars at some point, and the txfee may drop to a satoshi;  and when that time comes, that balance is still there. Until you explain to me why you refuse to add this feature to your site I'm going to claim it and I'll do so at my own leisure oh and the question isn't if BTC will be around the qeustion is will you be around or are you Coinmarket.2o

I am not dismissing your concerns.  In your use case, I can see that we'll leave some amount of dust behind, at which point you can always put in another orderBy doing some of that manual math I mentioned earlier right; but there is nothing shady or stupid about it. Making people do math a computer should be doing is stupid and denying it seems shady  It was designed this way to be robust, redundant, and auditable. Such fancy words save them and add the function to your site exchanges are a dime a dozen these days want to stick around better start being more competitive.

So how come when I buy 18.31 BTC of something and sell ALL at the EXACT same price I only receive 18.18 BTC?? That .13 BTC and .25% is only .045 BTC. That's triple the commission that BITTREX claims to be taking and I'm more than happy to screen shot this and show you!?!?

No matter what I try I can't sell all of USDT without leaving dust behind, it's so annoying.

I have tried Limits, MAX,  when the summary dialog pops up the figures add up to the total USDT balance, when you actually confirm the order and it's placed, there is still dust USDT remaining.

Heres your change.  Actually, at this store we provide the extra service of keeping the customers change here in our cash registers for you, free of charge.  Lucky for us, *ahem*, I mean you, your change was more than expected because we refunded our commission!  This service is mandatory, yes.

Wow, thank you.  I cant believe you refund the commission AND you keep it for me so I don't have to bother spending it?  Thank you soooo much. Smiley

the main disadvantage of bittrex as an exchange of the top 3 is the lack of a mobile version of the site or applications on the smartphone. and sometimes a long load of pages due to a larger number of users

It is quite disgusting these type of pirate-like behaviours and great that you raise awareness with users. Fortunately, I think that we are going to see quite a few decentralised exchanges next year and much more competence.
