Nevermind... I'm stupid and should stop posting after drinking all night Cheesy

Just curious here... pretty sure Lebowskis are a clone-coin of CAP, how many others are there?

Looks like CAP has a serious flaw in it that the developers are looking hard at fixing.  What other coins are about to fail?  I actually like both of these coins but have no sympathy for poorly planned coins.  If you clone a coin and it fails then the mining community should not be willing to take the hit and continue to mine/support the coin.  The coin should be discarded and a new version that is correct should be released.  This might be simplistic and I am definitely willing to learn more, but I don't see why any miner should support a coin that is constantly (In CAPs case) forked/fucked.

Hint:  it has to do with an unstable PoS* code in it...

HoboNickel is bottlecaps based according to forumpost https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261550.0 :
"based on bottlecaps. uses the proven amazingly stable CAP algo. Proof of Stake  scrypt"

But think they mixed up stable with broken

No caps forks are "Dommed" to failure. The issue has been extremely difficult to narrow down why only caps has been effected. There are a few out there with blockchains nearly as long and there have been zero issues relating to any of caps recent problems. I think i have narrowed it down

The issue with caps appears to be the floating point math. It can be interpreted differently by various compilers.

Other PoS coins from the same lineage are not affected by this issue. I have spoken with other developers and their clients are all compiled on linux. Therefore resulting in the same output across all clients

Due to the issues and testing I have been doing with the Windows QT I have been compiling them on a windows machine. Which therefore is returning a different result for the function in question.

I recommend all Bottlecaps based currency's to change this function but none are in immediate danger

The only reason I ask is because LBW is now forked and it's approx 30 days old.

Seems like all of these clones are going down, and mullick won't be able to fix them all.  Glad he is working on CAPs though Smiley

Looks like it should be forking in a couple of days then when the PoS blocks are ready to destroy it.

HoboNickles got only 10 days to stake (got some PoS block solved already myself), so should already started if so(?)

Hint: It's not a PoS problem, because PoS is just an incompetency detection tool.

If the "developer" is stupid enough to set up unsustainable configuration like 45s block spacing + 10 blocks to maturity, then he gets a prize.

Yeah, I don't know why I decided to make this post last night in the first place considering I don't understand PoS anymore than I understand nuclear physics.
