Hello everyone, I'm new here at bitcointalk.  I'm interested in mining for various altcoins but am having some trouble getting things going.

I have a wallet set up and have made an account with a pool online but when I load cgminer it closes/ crashes after I enter the password.  I know this is probably a really simple issue but I've tried multiple version of cgminer and can't get them to run.  If anyone could lend some insight it would be greatly appreciated.
