Hi, so.... I bought some alts on Bittrex using BTC, since the Alts i bought are valued in BTC, it seems that the estimated amount of money on my account just goes down as BTC value drops, this while the ALTS are going up. Someone help me understand what is going on. I know that since they are valued in BTC, as the prices drop so does my account estimated value in USD, it seems like im losing money even when the alts that i invested in are going up. How do you ge around this? any trading tips or ideas? im currently using Bittrex.

You should ignore the USD price for now. You should pay attention to the fraction of BTC that bittrex shows that you own. If you made a good investment, even though the USD value is lower, your BTC fraction is higher, meaning that when BTC goes back up you'll end up with more money than you started with.

That will flux depending on BTC value to USD.  Try looking at your entry in satoshi and based your gains by that.
BTC to USD could be on the 24hr low, but if your still above entry, then your in profit.

That's the risk of trading since Bitcoin and altcoin's price are too fluctuate. You need choose which side will going higher then convert to that.
If you believe your altcoin going up soon then no need to take a rush to sell just hold it until got your capital back and some profit
