Hey there;
I wanted to send LTC to an ICO token sale and in their page, they have multicurrency choices two of them are LTC and BTC
and I accidentally sent LTC to the bitcoin address, which has been shown on the page, from my Exchange Wallet (Yobit).
then I scanned the address in litecoin Scanner sites and realized that there is the same address for LTC and the deposit has  6+ confirmation.

just tell me what to do to recover my LTC back.

and thanks in adv.

Try to sen email to support of ICO you wanted to get. Most of the times this many do this by accident but Im sure if they are reasonable that they will understand and resolve this. Also send them id from transaction.

Ohh no,once the transaction was confirmed then there is no way to get it back.Only that person you wrongly send might return if he is a generous person or else you actually lost your litecoins.

Why he need to contact the ICO team he actually send the litecoins to someone else not to the ICO sale address. So there is no use in contacting them.

You are in the same fate with this guy Accidentally sent LTC to BTC address
And base on the comments on that thread there's no way for you to recover that since transactions are irreversible. How did you ended up sending it to a btc address? Do you check addresses before sending?

I guess you should read the OP again and if you still don't understand then read it again. It's simply that OP, there is 2 cryptocurrencies accepted for their ICO(BTC & LTC) instead of LTC address OP sent the LTC to BTC address, clear?

So only the ICO team can solve this and they will reflect your payment base on the amount you sent once settled so try to contact them asap, just give them the transaction id for proof.

Do you check addresses before sending?
Probably not.

I wasn't aware that kind of transaction went thought considering that LTC coins being sent out to a btc address is possible. I'm not aware if it would be possible or not but yet since I have seen that it shows confirmation then its possible. The thing here now which the one could help you is on the one who holds that btc address which is on the team who do made an ICO. Instead of bothering your self into problem. Why wont just get the tokens since you are paid already in bitcoin?

This doesn't make sense.

Are you telling me I could send 1 Litecoin to my Bitcoin address and receive 1 Bitcoin?

A person could make a lot of money that way.

LOL. Not sure if this is a serious question...

No. Both Bitcoin and Litecoin addresses can start with a 3. This means that you can send LTC to a Bitcoin address and the LTC will be stuck there until you do a proccess to recover them. Since OP doesn't control the private-keys from the BTC address, he needs to contact who does (the ICO team?) and ask for them to recover his coins. If they deny, there is nothing he can do.

The only ting you can do is to contact the ICO and say what you did. It's probably going to take time for them to extract your funds but it should be possible.

If you invested in a scam ICO then the good news is your funds would have been gone either way so there's nothing to worry about!

I think I now realize what the OP is talking about. This doesn't have anything to do with Bitcoin. His problem is he sent Litecoin to a Litecoin address - it just happened to be the wrong address.

His question makes it sound like he sent his Litecoin to the Bitcoin blockchain.
