What is a good blog platform?

You should choose WordPress because of it's flexibility, is also respected by many readers online and different companies. Probably the most powerful blogging platform in your corner, you no longer have to worry about “Which platform is best” or figuring out how to optimize your websites.

Wordpress with:

* SEO for WordPress (Yoast) - Best SEO plugin, pretty much essential, should be built into Wordpress.
* W3 Total Cache - cache & minify everything

You can use Hootsuite (free service, looks for posts from RSS) to have your posts tweeted automatically.

Picking a fast theme is important imo, lots of them are filled with junk that takes forever to load.

if you make the blog on their website you're not going to be able to install add-ons..
