Hey guys, which wallets is safest for ETH and BTC? Im looking for safety and convenience. You can store multiple coins on both. I found coin base and JAXX to be attractive but then I heard.
1) People with JAXX got hacked and lost out, in the past
2) Coinbase has no private key and is not very safe

I will eventually get a cold wallet, when I have a decent portfolio but in the mean time Ill just use a cold one.

thx

I will recommend you to buy a hardware wallet to store you BTC and ETH.

Check out Ledger and Trezor. At less than $100, you are able to get one. It is a pretty good investment for your coins.

Oh yes I will, probably next month. I just started and have less then a $100 so I wanted to go for a hot wallet for a month or so. I will be moving things around and next month when I settle down and have more money invested Ill trans it all to a cold wallet.
I meant in the mean time what I could use. Someone told me coin base isn't secure because you have no key.

...

They do have the private keys, their users don't.

Not sure whether you're looking for an online wallet, something you could access from any computer, or just a wallet installed on your device. If the latter, I use Coinomi for multiple cryptos. No major issues so far, quite happy with it.

exactly, i still can not understand why a lot of people are still holding their cryptos in a hot wallet.. that is the worst thing that you can do.

I prefer to invest $70 in a hardware wallet, but you will always know that all your assets are always going to be un-hackeable in there.

For me, all the wallets that are just for online-desktop purposes are the same shit, and all those who are using them, deserve to lose all their coins.

How can a desktop wallet be same shit??  with desktop wallet you will be fu** only if your computer is messed up and you are keeping your private key on your screen.  if you keep your computer clean and use 2fa for your desktop wallet then chance of getting hacked is reduced!

The offline wallets are the best wallets for storing your bitcoins and altcoins.

1. Trezor waller | https://trezor.io
2. Ledger wallet | https://ledgerwallet.com

With the offline wallet your coins are 100% secure! Hope this information is helpful. Smiley

I feel Electrum can be considered as the safest and lightest Destop wallet. It gives full access to your keys and got some good features like replacing fee etc. Recently there was a bug and the devs were very quick to fix it. Great support! If you needed the most secure wallet, then nothing can beat a paper wallet or hardware wallet unless you are careless enough to loose the seed. As noted Jaxx is one of the most buggiest wallet I have used.

The most and secure wallet will have private keys so you can control your coins so electrum is one of the best bitcoin wallet you can get it for free but it is only for bitcoin.
If you are looking for the ultimate protection for your coins and multipple suppoted coins then hardware wallets will be the options for you.It support most of the popular altcoins and also the ERC20 tokens.

You can use blockchain.info or counterwallet, this wallet is used by many people for Counterparty - A service built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain that allows non technical users to create and trade any type of Bitcoin - based token. Coinbase, is a hot wallet but you don't hold your own private keys since it is just a custodial wallet, I regularly used Coins.ph as custodial. You shouldn't store any significant amount of Bitcoin in a hot wallet.

Online and exchanges wallet are unsafe, the better thing is to buy an hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor, that have 99.9% security
If you don't want to buy anything, then use an offline wallet, like Electrum

The problem with those who are holding their bitcoins or cryptos in hot wallets is that they are being exposed A LOT, and they can easily be hacked with a rat or something else like a malware or a keylogger. Just afford $70, and buy a ledger.

That's correct, hardware wallets are the best and  for any serious bitcoin holder or investor i will strongly recommend get one because that's quite the only safe way to store your bitcoins if you will be able to keep the hardware safely in a safe somewhere.

I'm currently using coins.ph and it's very convenient and secured. You can also pay bills through it and and convert your btc into peso quickly.
