Not sure how many of you actually gotten to know BitShares and all of it's aspects, but we were wondering what your thoughts about BitShares are?
Do you know it?
Have you used id?
What are your thoughts about BitShares, its past and its future?

The one thing that many people don't know about BitShares are the market pegged assets. And where this may sound difficult, it means nothing more than:
- there are BitShare nodes keeping a list of prices (and calculating the corresponding worth in BitShares) at all times
- this makes it possible to make 'new' assets on the BitShares blockchain (such as bitBTC, bitUSD, bitCNY, bitEUR, bitGOLD, ... ) that ALWAYS hold the value of that underlying asset, in BTS (BitShares native token)

This makes it possible to have a coin or token outside of the BitShares blockchain, and 'peg' a certain value to them by actually 'shorting' your BTS into that underlying asset.

For those interested into learning more about BitShares, I invite you to take a look at the following link https://steemit.com/steem/@ash/steemit-how-to-s

Are there other similar products out there? Please state them here!
