Is a rate of ~400KHPS decent at all for a laptop, and what sorts of profits could I expect from it per day/week/month?

Also, does anyone know how I can increase the rate? Im using 8 of 8 cores in performance mode.

About $0.02 per month at 400KH/s.

He said KHPS which is kilohashes per second, not megahashes.

About 0.61 USD per day if you count 1 BTC as 100 USD and power cost as 0. It will decrease with time with the increasing difficulty.
Whoa there, your math is way off, assuming you run your laptop 24/7 and you don't screw up your laptop from over heating, you're only going to make only 20 cents per month, and that's not counting electricity, which assuming your processor consumes 35 watts and USD/kWh is .15/1, you're losing 3 dollars per month. Please don't mine with your laptops people! GPU mining is already horribly uneconomical; you're just wasting your time and money if you keep mining on a processor. If you really want to mine, get a USB Block Erupter for only BTC.35 each for 333MH/s https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=271054.0

Feeling generous? Like my post? Leave a tip at BTC: 1NZJ8cceqEiKDZGAJged2vNGCyfFMUEYPt

OP, is this Bitcoin (sha256) algo, or Litecoin (scrypt) algo? That's pretty good if you're mining Litecoins. Bad if Bitcoin...

Ah, didn't see that it was "8 of 8 cores" (hinting CPU). Figured it was a newer laptop with a 78xx on it or something.
