MTgox withdrawl problem and quick alternatives for canada question

hey guys I live in canada and i recently needed some money so i decided to ask my friend to sell 2 bitcoins through mt gox for me because i needed cash and i dont have an account with them. so i transfered BTC to his MTgox account and he put them up for sale, but now it is telling him that it may take up to 2 weeks or longer to transfer funds. I dont really have two weeks. why does it take so long and will it really take two weeks and am i gonna get my money back. I live in canada and i need the cash before end of the month is there any quick alternatives to selling bitcoins fast. I am aware of localbitcoin but i would rather not go through the hassle of finding a buyer and meeting up etc. Does anyone have any siggestions.
