Not to put you down but you joined on July 27 2013, and you give no escrow?
Think of using someone like John K to confirm your identity, this would build a bit more trust and you have a better chance of success.
Other then that I think you have a good model. I like the plan to diversify equipment. Work that out and I might be interested.

 10% hosting fees... wow

Let's just say the difficulty is 200M when you get 1.2TH/s online...

That will generate 60BTC per month.  So you will take out 6BTC (~$600) for hosting fees?

Let's also overestimate that you are using 3000W to power and cool the rigs, so 24hrs * 30days * 3KWh = 2160KWh

You either have very expensive electricity or just want to rake a nice chunk of the profits.

Others, like Moogle, are only charging 3% fees and offering escrow.

GOOD LUCK! Cheesy

10% is not too high IMO. I am going to run my first group buy at a NET LOSS with a 3% fee because of rent and Avalon delays. Especially if he has to rent commercial space.

Why would you have to rent commercial space for three rigs?  I have a small house and could easily find room for three rigs...

This isn't a GPU farm.  This is essentially three desktop computers that could easily fit on one desk.

Sorry, didn't read the OP. I agree you could host three rigs in your house, but some people have wives and girlfriends that don't like noisy fans running 24x7 (three rigs would be quite loud).

Good call.  I should start a group buy and take 20% off the top, and pay for my mortgage as "hosting fees" lol

Hi ThreaT

I actually think this GB proposal is a good diversified and flexible option when one considers risk factors not necessarily always thought of by many other GBs e.g. what if countries like USA starts clamping down on mining chip imports like the one Avalon GB import in NY at the moment, what if hosting fees are underestimated like CoinHoarder warns about by personal experience, what if a supplier do not come through on time, what if the BTC price spikes to > 266usd/btc again tomorrow that could make the mining profitability in fiat easier, what if one of your hosting sites gets clamped down on by bullying authorities etc.  Although you are currently a relatively new community member, the way you are approaching the community is commendable.

Full disclosure, I am affiliated with Bitcoin-za, but if the community doesn't have a problem, I would even throw in a personal paid for share to help you get started.  You would obviously have the prerogative from which potential supplier(s) you've mentioned to buy from as the community/shareholders vote fit.  At the end of the day, mining is not just for personal profit,  it is to support and decentralize the bigger network and getting mining up and running in Africa would be a wonderful thing for Bitcoin in the longer run.  Bitcoins earned in Africa could also be seen as a spreading the future purchasing power for humanity and ending the dependencies on central banking all over the world simultaneously to prepare for when fiat money inevitably collapses Cool

I hope the community starts supporting you.  You will have your backing

All the best bud

dawie

As many of you can see I reserved the first post.

Threat contacted us directly with his proposal and we decided to allow him to do a group buy as we actually want the people to contact us and get involved in the product. Not just open a group buy and thats that.

I will also ask him to verify with John K. Remember one thing as well. Threat comes from South Africa as well and he is going to be picking up the units personally. So basically no shipping time at all. He will also verify the test units etc. So good job on the offer Threat.

I have also requested to meet him personally to confirm his identity as well. Will put all of that up in the first post Smiley
