You can adjust any consumption parameters manually. Read the instructions for the claymore miner and insist the values you need for:
 -cvddc
-mvddc
Example:
Quote
-tt 65 -tstop 85 -cclock 1130 -mclock 2150 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 850
I saw a BIOS that shows low consumption, but the actual consumption of the video card does not change
Why pay money for this?

All you need is AMD wattman, here is my own settings If you care about inserting power settings in miner software instead

-tt 65 -tstop 85 -cclock 1130 -mclock 2150 -cvddc 760 -mvddc 820

This will give you 76 - 77watts power and if you have to use wattman then just adjust Mclock and coreclock mv

How many you got of those 580s? If it is 1 piece then dont bother looking for bios because saving 5w less will not bring you big thing and waste your time.
You can achieve 30.5mhs without mod and low consumption. What miner do you use?

If you really care about low power consumption don't do any overclocking, stay at default clock and activate memory timing 2 in wattman, doing this you will achieve 30mh at very low power, change cvddc to 750 and -mdvvc 750 too

thanks all for the info.

im using Phoenix miner but wondering if i should go back to claymore as im sure this bios gave me 30mhs.

i could go back to stock and use command line tweaks. how do i convert what youve suggested to phoenix miner?

the reason for wanting a low power consumption is on defaults the card was pulling 140W, making shit loads of noise, and getting hot.

id settle for around 110w or less.

p.s. im not overclocking, i actually underclock as the card defaults to 1360 max which i adjust to 1150.

another issue is the latest AMD drivers cause an error and ive had to put -clkernal 0 to get it to run.

ok ive gone back to stock rom.

used some ver 20 drivers as the latest causes the clkernal prob.

set watman to cvoltage 900mv as lower seems to result in crashing.

left memory alone but changed to memory timing 2.

getting 29.8 mhs and so far stable with about 104W power draw.

The parameters in Claymore have never worked for me. Only software that worked was Wattmann. Setting the core engine and memory clock worked with most software and you could easily mod it in the bios.

However for voltage control, its completely different. Lowering the voltage in bios didn't do anything. You had to use software like WattMan or that OhGodATool if under Linux. No matter what mV i put under bios it never was actually undervolted. And same with using the Claymore software. The undervolt parameter never actually did anything. I verified with a wattmeter.

Onlyway is WattMan or OhGodATool if under Linux.

Still alot, and you said this gpu has samsung memory ? I'm confused mate, your voltage should drive down under 800mv, I can do this successful on my rx580 with samsung memory, I suggest you get samsung BIOs and mod the gpu then or download smOS and flash BIOS in the OS
