I am quite new to mining and have been test different mining software with my usb sticks.

I started with bitminter under windows which showed my devices at the expected throughput I am now testing cgminer under linux and i am struggling to get a third of the throughput they should be running at on each device, is there a particular reason for this or should i be using different mining software under linux.

I'm using cgminer and get somewhere around 330 MH/s from each.

Followed the cgminer setup here: http://learn.adafruit.com/piminer-raspberry-pi-bitcoin-miner/install-cgminer
and the config from here: http://learn.adafruit.com/piminer-raspberry-pi-bitcoin-miner/configure-settings

Thanks for that I will check those out.

I have now noticed under cgminer under linux if I only have 1 usb miner connected i get the expected output but as soon as I start adding additional devices the combined thoughput is less than 1 device.  I am currently trying 3 devices and they are only achieving a combined throughput of 270Mh/s but one device on its own is more like 336Mh/s???

Well i have come to the conclusion the problem is with cgminer i have been using v3.3.1 under linux i have seen other posts recommending v3.1.1 so i am now testing bitminter under linux with a 10 port powered hub and its running very smoothly.
