It seems that traditional financial institutions start to realize the revolutionary potential of bitcoin, so they try to put things under their control.
Of course, this will create some difficulties (expect some campaigns saying that bitcoin is used to finance terrorism o something so, just to have a pretext to demonize it), but it can't stop the bitcoin progress.

Well it's time for Bitpay and others to create a way to use cryptocurrency without touching the Visa network. Hopefully this should spur innovation.

This is not a new thing already since there are existing services and projects dedicated to create a way to use cryptocurrency without touching the Visa network.  The only problem is that they are not being used that much because of few sites using their services to accommodate crypto users. In fact, all coins in the market can be used to transactions without touching Visa network but only a few shops accept them as payment for transactions.
