Hello,

I bought 4 R9 280 for mining, and I want to flash a mining bios into it, there's a lot of optimized mining bios for a lot of GPUs but I can't find any for this one !
And I'm too afraid to modify it by myself, except if you have a good link with a good step-to-step to modify the bios for this gpu, this it what it looks like :

I also have one Asus HD7970 Matrix Platinum.

Thank you all!

Thank you all!

The older GPUs don't really benefit from any bios flashes.

With your r9 280x you can mine either Equihash (ZCASH) or Cryptonight (XMR / ETN ) coins.

Equihash current is the most profitable. You should get around 320H/s or so.

Your Matrix Platimum is a very powerful GPU. Its actually very rare. You can probably OC that one and get a little faster speeds.

Is your other GPUs the Sapphire Dual-X R9 280X? Be cautious mining with those, they have been known to explode during mining from faulty overheating VRMs.

LOL! you MUST flash moded bios to get 320+ sol/s on them. If just overclocked you will get 290sol/s. Bios must be moded by hand to get it working stable (some bioses have 1 or 2 or 3 memory types in them and they can be listed in different orders, so the best way is to modify it by hand) from my 15 280x's this sapphire dual x was the WORST model. Spent days trying to mod it (I was getting system crash every hour). In the end, I left them on stock bios and oc them.

Back when TheStilt was writing modded bios for various R9 2xx series cards intended to be used in Scrypt mining, he stated in one post that the Sapphire non-reference cards got the least benefit IF ANY from a modded BIOS because they were already pushing the memory straps pretty close to the max their memory could handle.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!
