Hello,

i have read the last days a bit about Open Transaction and have some questions.

It looks like the BitMessage Integration isnt available yet so only Open Transaction alone is ready to be used for trading. Till now i only saw servers set up for testing, maybe building a network. So when i want to try trading cryptocurrencies on Open Transaction do i have to setup a OT-Server or am i able to use a server already available? If so where can i access such server?

As far as i understand each type of goods has an issuer. Who is the issuer of Bitcoins in that system? Or would i issue Bitcoins by claiming i have some?

I saw in the example videos that i could simply claim i have silver grams. And thats the normal way to integrate silver grams. So what would keep me from claiming having silver grams, selling them for bitcoins and leave because i never had real silver? I dont see this yet.

I saw a bitcoin integration. Does all Cryptocurrencies have an integration or is this only a addon for bitcoin?

Thanks!
Sebastian

A Bitcoin voting pool is described in the Auditing page on the OT wiki.  As is auditing for physical:

I followed the tutorial to install this on windows. Installed Win SDK for Win 7 and .NET Framework 4, MS Visual C++2010 SP 1 Compiler Update, MS Visual Studio Express 2012, OpenSSL (the 4 parts) and Java SE RE + SE Dev Kit. Then extracted boost to drive C:. Then i took the 6 files from Downloads and extracted lib and include of them into directory 2012 of OT Dir. That are ChaiScript, Google Protocoll Buffers and ZeroMQ.

But now i dont know. It says Compile OT. I should load up Open Transactions project that is in project folder. I dont see a project folder and i dont know whit what software i have to load it.

How to do?

Too bad i spent the hours on that... i hoped its something more than the normal cryptic Open Transaction shell. But when its so old...

The forum isnt containing much info but i now tried the thread. Open Transaction is easy to install and start but can i use it with moneychanger too? I mean that GUI shown in the videos.

I downloaded the contracts from markm and tried addserver command, copied the content from DigitalisOTserver.otc into it and put a ~ in a line. But it tells me "Sorry, failed. Are you sure that as a server contract?" so im not sure whats the problem. I copied the text from windows notepad with linebreaks disabled.
