The preliminary question here is whether ASICs are designed specifically for Bitcoin, specifically, or for SHA-256.

That being said/asked, would it be possible to mine other SHA-256 coins off of ASIC miners?  Or is this not feasible?

This question has been asked and answered numerous times. Yes, you can mine any sha256 coin with an ASIC device.
